Report on the State and Needs of Education 2012

On June 11, 2010, the Conseil selected the theme of promoting the fulfilment of initial qualifying training as a regular secondary education path for youth under 20 for its 2012 Report on the State and Needs of Education.

Briefs Being Prepared by the Commissions

• Commission on Preschool and Elementary Education :  The Conseil has selected the theme of pre-school as an important developmental phase in children and their educational success. The proposal was adopted by the Conseil at the June 2010 meeting.
• Commission on Secondary Education :  The Conseil has selected the theme of professional development of secondary school teachers. The proposal was adopted by the Conseil on October 15, 2010.
• Commission on College Education :  On April 30, 2010, the Conseil mandated the Commission on College Education to prepare a brief on the internationalization of college education.
• Commission on University Education and Research :  At its meeting on June 11, 2010, the Conseil mandated this Commission to prepare a brief on challenges facing today's students.

• Commission on Adult Education and Continuing Education :   At its meeting on June 11, 2010, the Conseil selected the theme of optimal strategies for the development of adult literacy.

Ad Hoc Committee

Per the Act Respecting the Conseil supérieur de l'éducation, the Conseil is required give its opinion on any draft regulation as requested by the Minister.
