
The Conseil supérieur de l'éducation (CSE) is an advisory body for the Minister of Education, Recreation and Sport. The CSE comprises 22 government-appointed members.
The Conseil supérieur de l'éducation also includes five commissions and the Committee for the Report on the State and Needs of Education. In addition, the CSE may also create ad hoc committees to study a given issue. The members of these commissions and committees are all appointed by the CSE.
Established in 1999, the Advisory Committee on the Financial Accessibility of Education reports administratively to the CSE, yet its Chairperson reports directly to the Minister. The Advisory Committee on the Financial Accessibility of Education comprises 17 government-appointed members.
Lastly, the administrative work of the CSE is carried out by a staff of about 30 civil servants who provide support for the CSE in all aspects of its work.
