The Advisory Committee on the Financial Accessibility of Education is charged with advising the Minister of Education, Recreation and Sport on all Ministerial requests related to:

• financial aid programs instituted by the Act Respecting Financial Assistance for Education Expenses;
  
  
• tuition fees, admission fees or enrollment to education services and other fees related to such services;
  
  
• measures or policies that might have an impact on financial accessibility to education.

The Advisory Committee on the Financial Accessibility of Education can:

• refer all matters within the Advisory Committee on the Financial Accessibility of Education's competence to the Minister;
  
  
• carry out studies and research;
• invite and receive observations and suggestions from individuals and organizations.

Lastly, the Minister of Education, Recreation and Sport must submit to the Advisory Committee on the Financial Accessibility of Education any proposals related to these financial aid programs, as well as any conditions which he or she may include in the budget rules and/or any directives related to these fees which he or she may issue to teaching institutions.
